Last week, acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Richard Grenell released 6,000 pages of deposition transcripts taken during House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff’s (D-California) hearings of alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 campaign.
During those closed-door hearings, 53 Obama administration officials, including principal players, were interviewed by Schiff’s committee and they all said the same thing — no evidence of collusion.
Former National Security Adviser Susan Rice said:
“To the best of my recollection, there wasn’t anything smoking……I don’t recall intelligence that I would consider evidence that I saw conspiracy prior to my departure. I don’t recall intelligence that I would consider evidence to that effect.”
Former (DNI) Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told the committee:
“I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election.” Despite his sworn testimony to the House Intelligence Committee, Clapper told CNN in May 2019 that the Trump campaign had been “essentially aiding and abetting the Russians.”
When committee member Trey Gowdy (R-SC) asked Former CIA Director John Brennan if evidence “of collusion, coordination, conspiracy, between the Trump campaign and Russian state actors” existed, Brennan replied:
“I don’t know whether or not such collusion — and that’s your term, such collusion existed.”
Despite his sworn testimony, Brennan would later declare that President Trump “is wholly in the pocket of Putin.” On NBC’s Meet the Press, he asserted, “I called [Trump’s] behavior treasonous, which is to betray one’s trust and aid and abet the enemy, and I stand very much by that claim.” In a New York Times commentary, Brennan wrote that “Trump’s claims of no collusion are, in a word, hogwash.”
When asked about collusion, former Attorney General Loretta Lynch said she did “not recall that being briefed up to me,” and added, “I can’t say that it existed or not.”
Former Deputy National Security adviser Ben Rhodes (brother of then CBS News President David Rhodes) said in his interview: “I saw indications of potential coordination, but I did not see, you know, the specific evidence of the actions of the Trump campaign.”
In March 2017 (two months after Donald Trump’s inauguration) Adam Schiff told Meet the Press, “I can’t go into the particulars, but there is more than circumstantial evidence now.” To this day, Schiff insists that the evidence “is right in front of our faces.”
Committee member Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) said, “In our investigation, we saw strong evidence of collusion,” and claimed that President Trump was “working on behalf of the Russians.” To this day, he makes the claim that there is ample evidence that President Trump “is a Russian asset.”
Jerry Nadler (D-NY), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, said, “It’s clear that the campaign colluded, and there’s a lot of evidence of that.” He still maintains that the President is guilty.
Schiff, Swalwell and Nadler heard every single word of sworn testimony from every single witness in that room. Like the rest of us, they also saw Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s pathetic testimony which showed that he too came up empty handed.
Attorney General Bill Barr broke down Mueller’s testimony thusly: “After nearly two years of investigation, thousands of subpoenas, and hundreds of warrants and witness interviews, the Special Counsel (Robert Mueller) confirmed that the Russian government sponsored efforts to illegally interfere with the 2016 presidential election but did not find that the Trump campaign or other Americans colluded in those schemes.”
Yet, Schiff, Nadler, Swalwell, other Democrats and Trump haters – including the media – continue for three years to perpetrate this lie, this narrative that Vladimir Putin wanted Donald Trump to win and that Trump colluded with the Russians to swing the election his way.
Well, we know that House Intelligence Committee members “found the opposite” motivations for the Russians to interfere in our elections and that then CIA director John Brennan had that information, but withheld it. This, according to former CIA officer and National Security Council Chief of Staff Fred Fleitz who wrote in an opinion piece several days ago:
“House Intelligence Committee staff told me that after an exhaustive investigation reviewing intelligence and interviewing intelligence officers, they found that (CIA Director) Brennan suppressed high-quality intelligence suggesting that Putin actually wanted the more predictable and malleable Clinton to win the 2016 election. Instead, the Brennan team included low-quality intelligence that failed to meet intelligence community standards to support the political claim that Russian officials wanted Trump to win, House Intelligence Committee staff revealed. They said that CIA analysts also objected to including that flawed, substandard information in the assessment.”
A nation on hold, a president distracted (but still racking up accomplishments), millions wasted, years lost, lives destroyed and an American People repeatedly dragged through the ringer, repeatedly lied to by elected – and unelected – officials in numerous sects of our government and intelligence communities at the highest echelons of power in this country, not to mention a defunct, sycophantic media. Why? To undo the results of the 2016 election, to disenfranchise 63 million American voters who supported Donald Trump, to destroy the man himself and to seize power by whatever means necessary.
Had Donald Trump not won, we’d never know the lengths the Left will go to in their quest for power. We’d simply assume. Now, we have proof. Acting Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Richard Grenell is a hero for releasing documents which further expose the Deep State and the Washington Swamp. Kudos to president Trump for appointing him.
