“We’re here for you.” Please. Just Stop.

Did you ever get a phone call from someone with whom you haven’t spoken for a long time, who told you the reason for his call was “just to see how you’re doing? After a few minutes of niceties, did that “old friend” then ask you to do him a favor? If you hadn’t already caught on, it was finally at that moment that you discovered the true reason for his call. He wanted something.

That’s how I’ve been feeling the last few weeks, ever since the Coronavirus pandemic led to the proliferation of warm, fuzzy, feel-good, transparent, trite, contrived, OBVIOUS Covid-19-themed television and radio commercials.

If one more company tells me that “we’re here to help you get through this,” “we’re doing our part” or “we’ll get through this together,” I will simply Ralph.

Please. Just stop. The most egregious example of feigned concern comes in the form of a Chevy commercial. First comes the ominous or pastoral music, then the voiceover telling me that “we’re here for you.” Here’s what Chevy means by that:

“For those who need a new car, truck, or SUV, we’re offering interest-free APR financing for an unprecedented 84 months for very well qualified buyers on most 2019 models and 2020 Equinox, Silverado 1500 and Trax models. You can also defer your monthly payments for 120 days on most Chevrolet vehicles, when you finance with GM Financial.”

Then, they tell me that if I’m concerned about going to the showroom, I can purchase my new Chevy online and they will deliver it to me. Just one more way that “we’re here for you.”

The American People were there for Chevy (GM) when we gave them $81 billion in bailouts during the Obama Administration. But when we really needed Chevy to “be there” for us, they turned their backs on us and had to be forced by the President of the United States (through the Defense Production Act) to manufacture ventilators.

Meanwhile, Mike Lindell, owner of My Pillow, didn’t have to be asked, nor forced to “be there.” He converted 75% of his factory so that he could make as many as 50 thousand masks per day. For his efforts, the man who was REALLY here for us was mocked as “that My Pillow guy” and ridiculed for his religious beliefs by the same leftist media types who constantly tell us “we’re all in this together.”

Do you want to know how Chevy can be there for me? By deferring the payments on my current Chevy until I get my job back….that is, if my job even exists when this is over. Chevy is not there for me by trying to get me to commit to a new, 7-year car payment when I can least afford it, putting me into even more debt just so they can move some inventory so that THEY survive.

CHEVY. Please. Just stop. For the record, I do not own a Chevy nor will I ever buy another GM product.

How about Papa John’s? They’re making money hand over fist during this crisis since Americans are ordering food to be delivered. What better than pizza, right? Papa John’s is also there for me. They promise they will not touch my pizza once it comes out of the oven. Really?

What possible reason could they have for touching my pizza once it comes out of the oven anyway, regardless of Covid-19? The pizza is removed using a long-handled wooden peel, at which time it is slid into the box and the box closed. Done. Even if they cut it, they should use a stain-less steel pizza cutter and the hands would never touch the pie.

Honestly, Papa John’s ought to spend more time touching the pizza before it goes into the oven, putting higher-quality ingredients on it, making it the way pizza should be made. Perhaps then it wouldn’t taste like packing material. I’d sooner eat the Covid-19 infected box and the little plastic table in the center of the pie. Then, at least I could eat and pick my teeth at the same time. As far as pizza goes, Papa’s needs a brand-new bag. Same goes for their TV spots. Papa. Please. Just stop.

As MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow continues her crusade to get networks to stop carrying President Trump’s daily Coronavirus Updates, the network’s Joy Reid and Gabriel Sherman now begin their crusade to sue the Fox News Channel – and possibly their hosts – for what they call “denials” and “lies” regarding the Coronavirus crisis. Meanwhile………

On January 21st, Dr. Anthony Fauci stated on Newsmax TV: “The American people should not be worried or frightened by this. It’s a very, very low risk to the United States. It isn’t something that the American public needs to worry about or be frightened about.”

On February 2nd, President Trump’s China Travel Ban went into effect and two days later, during his State of the Union Address, he promised to do what was necessary to protect the American People. Three weeks later, Speaker Nancy Pelosi – who tore up that speech in our collective faces – was inviting people to visit Chinatown, San Francisco (in her district), New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and his Health Commissioner, Oxiris Barbot, were telling people to live their lives as usual, to go to the movies, to parades, etc. If, as Pelosi has asserted, President Trump’s “early denials were deadly,” just how deadly were her own denials or those of Dr. Anthony Fauci, Bill de Blasio and Oxiris Barbot?

As of this writing, there are no calls from MSNBC for media blackouts nor lawsuits for Fauci, Pelosi, de Blasio or Barbot. No. Only Donald Trump and Fox News. MSNBC tells us it’s because of their “denials,” “lies” and “misinformation.” No. It’s because they’re both winning. Trump’s daily Coronavirus Updates are ratings bonanzas for the networks while Joe Biden’s online briefings from the basement of his home do not attract flies, but maybe a couple of scurrying mice or even one or two woodpeckers staring through the basement window at his head. Fox News, meanwhile, buries the “competition,” garnering exponentially more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined.

Interestingly enough, those same media fascists are not calling for a blackout, nor a lawsuit where New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is concerned. This, despite Cuomo having passed up the opportunity to purchase 16,000 ventilators for a total of $576 million in 2015 and chosing instead to blow $750 million on a Green New Deal type solar panel plant that went belly up……not to mention the failed light bulb factory……and other wasteful spending. How “deadly” were Andrew Cuomo’s decisions for New York?

While we’re at it, why do we need a daily update by Andrew Cuomo anyway? Why is New York more important than any other state? Is it simply because New York has more Coronavirus cases than any other state and that Cuomo is trying to “be there for you” or is it because Cuomo is simply trying to present himself as a leader and to position himself as the potential Democrat nominee for president in 2024? Andy. Please. Just stop.

Leftists know they cannot win debates because their ideas don’t hold up in the arena of common sense, so they must prevent debates from happening. Leftists have nothing with which they can counter opposing voices (Trump/Fox), so they must silence opposing voices. Leftists know that President Trump made the right call with the early China Travel Ban even while their so-called expert, Dr. Fauci made the wrong call. To be clear, I am not denigrating Dr. Fauci. I am saying  that even the experts in their fields get it wrong when they’re in uncharted waters as we are now. If experts (doctors/scientists) get a pass for bad calls, even while performing in their milieux, then why not a civilian like the President while performing in his, especially given that he is taking the advice of the so-called experts?

Bottom line. Donald Trump was right and Dr. Fauci was wrong. So too were Nancy Pelosi, Bill de Blasio, Oxiris Barbot, Andrew Cuomo, Joe Biden and others. Period. End of discussion.

We may never know how many lives were saved because of the President’s China travel ban.  It could be in the millions. Even Joe Biden – who has been wrong on every major decision he’s made in Washington since 1972 – is now on-board with the ban. As the saying goes, success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan. For two months, until he saw it was working, Biden was against the ban and called President Trump a xenophobe for instituting it, something he denies doing….even though he did so – on videotape – on two occasions between the day the ban was announced and the time it took effect.

Simply put, Trump is winning and the leftists know it. They know they must try something else because they know they cannot defeat him at the ballot box. They are certain he will win reelection. That is why Nancy Pelosi said it was “a dangerous position to let the election decide” whether or not President Trump stays. That is why Congressman Al Green said, “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.” And that is why the Democrats – with the help of the mainstream media – must use whatever fascist tactics deemed necessary to silence and destroy him…..and by doing so, silence the 63 million opposing voices who elected him. That includes calling for a blackout of Trump’s Coronavirus Updates, a corrupt, hoax 9/11-styled investigation of his handling of the Coronavirus crisis and the threat of yet another hoax impeachment.

Democrats, mainstream media, don’t tell me that this is simply about trying to protect the American People. Please. Just stop.

Just three days after the largest economic relief package in U.S. history was enacted, Nancy Pelosi was already talking about a phase 4 stimulus plan to assist Americans in the midst of this crisis. She is hoping to have a vote by April 20th.

To even discuss this right now is to send a signal to the American People that the first stimulus is not going to work, that this crisis is going to drag on and on and on for an indeterminate period and that things will not get better. But that’s the point.

The “never let a serious crisis go to waste” Democrats need the pain, the fear, the panic and the despair to last as long as possible, believing crestfallen Americans will vote for “hope and change, part deux” Joe Biden-style in November. The more “free stuff” the Democrats can give out between now and then, the longer they can get Americans used to not working and the more they can get them addicted to the government heroin and contented with a life of government-dependency, the better their chances of winning the White House on November 3rd. Remember, the second part of that Rahm Emanuel “crisis” quote is, “What I mean by that is it allows you do things you thought you couldn’t do before.”

To wit:

Just as FDR took advantage of the crisis of the Great Depression to foist his liberal, progressive agenda and policies on America, so too did Barack Obama during the Great Recession of 2008. And, just as FDR’s policies deepened and lengthened the Depression of the 30s far-beyond what it had to be, so too did Obama’s the Recession of the 2010s. Their plans worked just as intended. The Democrats are taking advantage of this crisis and using the opportunity to further their liberal Progressive agenda, just as did FDR and Obama during their respective crises. And, just like FDR and Obama the Democrats are trying to deepen and extend this crisis far beyond what it needs to be to their political ends.

People vote with their pocketbooks. Always have. Always will. The sooner we can be past this crisis, the sooner Americans can get back to work and start providing nicely for themselves, just as they were doing two months ago, before the Coronavirus pulled the plug. The Democrats – with the help of their propaganda arm, the mainstream media need to prevent that from happening in order to ensure their survival as a Party. Government-dependence wins elections for Democrats, not self-reliance and self-sufficiency.

Mrs. Pelosi, please don’t tell me you’re just trying to help me. You’re simply trying to help yourself and your Party seize power. Please. Just stop.

Finally, to all of the American Idol wannabes who are writing and attempting to sing sappy Covid-19 ballads online every time I turn on my Hewlett Packard……ostensibly trying to “be there” for us when all they really want is to “be” in Hollywood……Please. Just stop.  One exception. The bearded man singing “Stay the F at home.” That made me laugh. Heartily. Something we need right now. Please. Don’t ever stop that.
