Will the real Bernie Sanders please stand up.

“How many yachts do billionaires need? How many cars do they need? Give us a break. You can’t have it all.” – Bernie Sanders

I have frequently made the case that Bernie Sanders is NOT a socialist. Yes, he preaches socialism to the rest of us. Yet, he lives as a capitalist.

Bernie Sanders has never worked a day in his life, never held a regular 9 to 5 job like most Americans. His resume could be written on a piece of fortune cookie paper. He lived the life of Cosmo Kramer until he was 40 years old, having done not much else than write soft porn.

After becoming the mayor of Burlington, Vermont, Bernie embarked on a decades-long journey that saw him living off the taxpayers he claims to represent, all while enriching himself and his family in the process.

Bernie Sanders is now a multi-millionaire who owns three homes, including lakefront property on Lake Champlain in Vermont. I guess he’s not concerned about the “existential threat” of climate change and “undeniable science” that his home will be under water in 12 years, or less. One can only imagine the carbon footprint created by three homes and the damage that does to our environment, not to mention it’s effect on our climate.

For years, Bernie Sanders has lived off a six-figure government salary paid by the taxpayers…….people who actually go out and EARN the money in a capitalist society, money that is then taxed and redistributed to people like Bernie Sanders.

The dirty little secret is that socialism cannot exist without capitalism. Half the country has to go to work so that the government can take their money and redistribute it to the other half who, as the “Green New Deal” states, “cannot or will not work.” Socialism and Capitalism are aptly-described in the Sinatra song “Love and Marriage.” You can’t have one without the other.

Not satisfied with his six-figure salary, this self-described socialist set up a media buying company with his wife in order to purchase ads for his 2016 presidential campaign. The company was located in a house on a cul-de-sac in suburban Virginia and “run” by two friends of Bernie’s wife, Jane.

When media companies purchase ads for their clients, they get a 15% reduced rate. The media company then charges the client the full price and keeps the 15% as their commission. In Bernie’s case, his campaign was the client, so his campaign paid the full price of the advertising, while Mrs. Sanders kept the 15% commission and funneled it into the Sanders household.

Over the course of the campaign, they funneled $83 million through their media buying company which had no website, no nothing. It flew under the radar and the Sanders family kept 15% of that $83 million………THAT’S $12 MILLION……as their commission, ALL of it coming from campaign contributors who wouldn’t have had the money to donate to Bernie’s campaign had they not earned it in a capitalist system.

There are other money scandals involving the Sanders, including an FBI investigation into bank fraud involving Jane Sanders while she was president of Burlington College. But I digress.

Until he became Mayor of Burlington, Vermont, Bernie’s resume was as thin as a slice of melba toast at a weight loss clinic. Yet, he has become a very wealthy man by abusing the power of his office and through the very types of abuses of capitalism that he rails against.

So, do you still believe Bernie Sanders is a socialist? He calls himself a “Democratic Socialist.” He says he uses that term because he believes Americans will choose socialism.

Like the saying goes, “You can vote your way into socialism, but you’ll have to shoot your way out.”

Yes, Bernie claims to espouse socialism. He preaches it. It’s easy for him to do so because he knows that if America were to ever become a socialist country, it would never affect him, now that he is part of the “one-percent” that he demonizes.

“What works for thee does not work for me.”
